Our home-grown Norway Spruce was cut on 12/14 and decorated 12/16 & 12/17.  Dave specifically requested the largest tree possible.  When first cut, it was 12½ feet tall and 9½ feet wide.  In the garage it took up as much room as a car.  We trimmed it down to 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide.

Friends gave us a pair of 3-D glasses that create little snowmen around each light when you look at the tree with them on.  I tried photographing the tree through the lens of the glasses.  It didn't work out quite as nice as I'd liked, but you get the idea of the effect (click image to see the whole tree).
